The church has often been confused or suspicious about the role of emotions and feelings in our faith. Although it is true that emotions are sometimes improperly emphasized, many leaders and churches falsely denigrate them as unimportant, irrelevant or untrustworthy. To our own peril we can ignore and push aside our inner life. Come consider a balanced, biblical perspective on emotions and the critical role they play in spiritual maturity and leadership capacity.

Based on Emotionally Healthy Spirituality by Pete and Geri Scazzero, this multi-part Ministry Leader Gathering will dive into principles from The Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Course (EHS), which:

• Directly addresses the reality that emotional maturity and spiritual maturity are inseparable. It is not possible to be spiritually mature while remaining emotionally immature.

• Equips people to develop a personal, first-hand relationship with Jesus by incorporating stillness, silence and Scripture as daily life rhythms.

Part 2 will specifically address:

• Incarnational Listening

• Stop Mind-Reading

• Clean Fighting

Salem Bible Church is hosting this Multi-Part Ministry Leader Gathering over the 2019-2020 season. Participation in all the sessions is highly encouraged but not required, there will be overlap and review of materials in each session for anyone who had not attended the previous session(s).
