Counselor | West Chester & Wayne, PA
Ann Spooner, MSS, LSW has worked as an individual, marriage, pre-marital and family therapist for over 30 years in a variety of settings including private practice, family service organizations, churches and faith-based counseling centers. She has trained lay leaders and served as a consultant to directors of women’s ministry.
Ann is most passionate about helping adult survivors of sexual abuse, adults who have had a physically or psychologically absent parent, those going through life transitions or depression, blended families, and those who are suffering from emotional or spiritual abuse. Ann’s main desire is to help people discover how to apply the grace of God practically to the details of their lives.
In addition to counseling, Ann’s ardent desire is to equip church leaders to deal with the reality of the messiness of sexual abuse within their churches. She offers interactive workshops for ministry leaders and supportive groups for parents of survivors of sexual abuse.
Ann earned her Master’s Degree from Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research. She holds a certificate in Biblical Counseling from the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation (CCEF). She is licensed to practice in the state of Pennsylvania.
Ann is married and has two adult children. She thrives on variety—different types of personalities, culture, food, travel and styles of worship.
